– Clamshell Retractor System – Mod. 8710:
The clamshell retractor is intended to be used for keeping up the top part of the chest in the interventions in which there is practised the Clamshell incision. This incision goes from side to side of the chest following the space that stays between the ribs and cutting also the breastbone.
Though the principal application is bilateral lung (of 2 lungs) transplant also it is in use for bilateral metastases or other indications that demand a great exhibition of the thoracic cavity.
Developed in collaboration with the Doctor José Maestre from Vall d’Hebrón Hospital in Barcelona.

– Sternum Retractor System – Mod. 8750:
The sternum retractor is intended for use during surgeries for transcervical approach in order to raise the breastbone. This approach consists of an incision that is practised in the previous face of the neck just over the breastbone.
The main application is the transcervical thymectomy that consists of the resection of the swindle (endocrine gland placed under the breastbone) especially of patients with miastenia gravis. To access well to the swindle is necessary to raise the breastbone up to create more space.
Our retractor also serves for any other surgery that it is needed to raise the breastbone up, like it can be the thoracoscopic thymectomy or video-attended thymectomy surgery, TEMLA, the upper mediastinum surgery, endothoracic goiter and estenosis tracheal.
